The Trust House Cycle Classic EVENT DETAILS
The 2009 Trust House Cycle Classic, an annual sporting fixture for the past 22years and recognised as the best shop window for road cycling in New Zealand. The event starts on Wednesday 21 January with a Teams Time Trial around Fraser Park in Lower Hutt at 2.30pm and finish with a street circuit race in Lambton Quay, Wellington on Sunday 25 January 2009 at 2.30pm.

The event is held annually in January – at a time when European teams are beginning their intensive competition and training for the European cycling circuit. This event is one of the first major UCI (Union Cyclist Internationale) events of the year.
The 2008 Trust House Cycle Classic was watch by 1000’s of spectators during the five days event. It provided an economic benefit to the Hutt City, Wellington and Wairarapa as well as media exposure via television, newspapers and Internet sites from around the world.
The race is on the UCI (World Cycling Body) World Cycling Calendar and registered as 2.2 A grade event.
Over the five days of racing riders will complete a total of 564 kilometres of racing. The hardest stage in this year’s tour is stage five, a hilly 185km race around the Masterton area finishing at the top of Admiral Hill, a 16km hill climb to a total of 535 meters above sea level.
