The final race route and date for Oceania's women’s premier cycle race has now been finalised and Race Director Jorge Sandoval is confident the hill stages will be challenging and all stages of the Tour will provide excellent racing and spectator opportunities.
The 2010 event will commence on February 24th 2010 with a stage from Martinborough to Masterton and will finish five days later with the Wellington circuit down in Lambton Quay.
Sandoval says the 2010 tour should be special.
“THis year’s is the 7th version of the tour and we are looking forward to a great celebration. The tour is now recognised overseas as the best women’s cycle race in this country and I expect a big number of national and international riders”
“For the first time in the tour history, riders will race from Masterton to Palmerston North via the Pahiatua track. This is virgin territory for women’s cycling but next years riders will travel to and from Palmerston North via the track and should produce some great racing” Sandoval said.
